UPSC IES/ISS 2024: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will organize the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2024 or UPSC IES/ISS 2024. The IES and ISS are the administrative inter-ministerial civil services under Group A of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India.
This exam will screen the candidates for the post of Indian Economic Service officers and Indian Statistical Service officers. It is a two-tier examination in which the candidates have to clear an interview/ personality test after clearing the written exam.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must read the eligibility criteria given below before applying for the UPSC IES/ISS 2024 exam.
Nationality
Candidates with the following nationality can apply.
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention to permanently settle here.
- An Indian-origin person migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Srilanka or East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia and Zaire or from Vietnam.
Age Limit
- The age of a candidate should be between 21 to 30 years. (Relaxation in upper age will be given to the candidates from reserved categories)
Educational Qualification
For Indian Economic Service
- The candidate must possess a PG degree in Business Economics/ Economics/ Econometrics/ Applied Economics.
For Indian Statistical Service
- The aspirant must have a bachelor’s degree in mathematical statistics/ statistics/ applied statistics.
Application Form 2024
The application form for UPSC IES/ISS 2024 exam will be released in online mode through the official website of UPSC. Aspiring candidates need to visit the official website i.e. https://www.upsc.gov.in/ and have to register themselves for the exam. While filling up the application form, the candidates have to provide all the necessary educational, personal and contact details in the application form. Along with the details, the candidates have to upload scanned copies of their passport-size photographs and signatures.
Application Fee
The application form will not be considered valid unless the candidate pays the prescribed application fee. The application fee for UPSC IES/ISS 2024 exam is given below:
For Male candidates from General/ OBC categories: Rs. 200/-
For Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates: Nil (Exempted from the application fee)
Mode of payment
- The candidates can pay the application fee using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or SBI internet banking.
- The aspirants can also pay the application fee in cash at any branch of SBI using Pay-in-slip.

UPSC IES/ISS 2024 Admit Card
Candidates aspiring to appear for the UPSC IES/ISS 2024 exam can download their admit card from the official website of UPSC. The information regarding the date of the exam, the schedule of the exam, and the examination venue will be mentioned on the admit card. Candidates, please note that the UPSC will not send any admit card by post or any other offline method. It is expected that the admit card will be available three weeks prior to the date of the exam.
UPSC IES/ISS Result 2024
The applicants who will appear for the UPSC IES/ISS 2024 exam will be able to check their results from the official website. A direct link to check the result will also be made available on this page. The result will be in the form of a PDF file. In order to check their result, the candidates have to search for their names in the PDF file. The selected candidates will be required to submit the Detailed Application Form (DAF).
The original documents will be verified at the time of the Interview. The successful candidates will be able to download their interview letter from the official website of UPSC.
