IWST Recruitment 2023 for Technical Assistant, Technician: 14 Posts: Last Date: 30 October 2023

The Institute of Wood Science & Technology (IWST), Bengaluru has released the job notification for the post of Technical Assistant/Technician/Driver for 14 vacancies. Candidates with the qualification of B.Sc/12th/ITI/10th can apply for these vacancies. The selection process is based on the written test. Eligible candidates can apply through postal on 30 October 2023.

Institute of Wood Science and Technology is a research institution located in Bangalore, Karnataka. IWST is processed under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) government of India. The Institute has the facilities of Soil and plant analysis, Seed Technology Laboratory, Testing of timber and timber products, Pressure-treatment plant for preservative-treatment of timber etc.

3. Technical Assistant (Category II) Botany – 01 vacancy
4. Technician (Category I) Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance – 04 vacancies
5. Technician (Category I) Boilerman – 02 vacancies
6. Technician (Category I) Electrician – 02 vacancies
7. Technician (Category I) Machinist – 01 vacancy
8. Technician (Category I) Carpenter – 01 vacancy
9. Driver (OG) – 01 vacancy Total: 14 vacancies

Educational Qualification

1. Technical Assistant (Category II) Chemistry – Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry /Chemical Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate
2. Technical Assistant (Category II) Biotechnology – Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology with 60% marks in aggregate.
3. Technical Assistant (Category II) Botany – Bachelor’s degree in Botany with 60% marks in aggregate.
4. Technician (Category I) Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance – 12th standard in science with 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board with at least one year ITI certificate in relevant trade or certificate course from a Government Institute. Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance of woodworking machines and hydraulic machines.
5. Technician (Category I) Boilerman – Matriculation with 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board with ITI certificate in relevant trade or Certificate course from a Government Institute.
6. Technician (Category I) Electrician – Matriculation with 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board with ITI certificate in relevant trade or Certificate course from a Government Institute.
7. Technician (Category I) Machinist – Matriculation with 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board with ITI certificate in relevant trade or Certificate course from a Government recognized Institute.
8. Technician (Category I) Carpenter – Matriculation with 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board with ITI certificate in relevant trade or Certificate course from a Government recognized Institute.
9. Driver (OG) – Matriculation from a recognized board. Possession of valid driving licence for motor cars. Experience of driving motor cars for 3 years or more.
   Desirable: Knowledge of motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).

• Technical Assistant: 21 – 30 Years
• Technician: 18 – 30 Years
• Driver: 18 – 27 Years

• Technical Assistant: Pay Level – 5
• Technician: Pay Level – 3
• Driver: Pay Level – 2

Selection Process

• The selection process is based on a written test/interview.

Application Fee

• Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 400/- Application fee and Rs. 600/- Processing fee) through Demand Draft from any nationalized bank drawn in favour of the Director, Institute of Wood Science and Technology payable at Bengaluru.
• The PH/Women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.
• The SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee only against the reserved posts.
