The Indian Coast Guard Navik conducts recruitment exams to select candidates for various posts in the organization. The Indian Coast Guard is a maritime security force in India that protects the country’s maritime interests and enforces maritime law. It operates under the Ministry of Defence and plays a crucial role in safeguarding India’s maritime borders.

Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT 01/2024) for Navik General Duty Indian Coast Guard Invites Online Application For Navik (GD) 10+2 Entry. Applications are invited from unmarried Indian male nationals possessing educational qualifications and age, as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Navik GD (General Duty) in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union for North Zone, North East Zone, East Zone, West Zone, North Western Zone, A&N Zone.

The recruitment exams are conducted by the Indian Coast Guard as per the vacancies available for different posts. The exams are held to select candidates for posts like Assistant Commandant, Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), and Yantrik (Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical).

The selection process consists of multiple phases that candidates need to clear to be eligible for final selection. The stages may include a written examination, physical fitness test, document verification, medical examination, and training.

Age Limit

Minimum 18 Years and maximum 22 years. Candidates should be born between 01 May 2002 to 30 Apr 2006 (both dates inclusive) applying for post of Navik (DB), Navik (GD) and Yantrik. Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy) candidates is applicable only if, posts are reserved for them.

Educational Qualification: 10+2 passed with 50% marks aggregate in total and minimum 50% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by Central/ State Government. (5% relaxation in above minimum cut off will be given for SC/ST candidates and outstanding sports personnel of National level who have obtained 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in any field sports events at the Open National Championship/ Interstate National Championship. This relaxation will also be applicable to the wards of Coast Guard uniform personnel deceased while in service).

Salary Details

Starting Basic Pay Scale for Navik (GD) is Rs. 21700/ – (Pay Level – 3 post 7th pay commission implementation), plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on nature of duty/place of posting as per the regulation enforced time to time.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates is based on the order of merit depending on their performance in Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examination.

Application Fee

Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 300/-(Rupees Three Hundred Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI. E-admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.

Physical Fitness Test

PFT will be conducted for all the candidates who qualify for the written tests. The parameters for the Physical fitness test are mentioned below:

  • 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes
  • 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 Push-ups

Note: Candidates are requested to carry their sports attire, shoes, etc.

Medical Examination

Candidates qualifying for the written exam and the physical fitness test will be eligible for the medical examination. The medical criteria to be fulfilled by the candidates applying for the Indian Indian Coast Guard Navik post are mentioned below:

Syllabus

Section I of the Indian Coast Guard Navik exam includes subjects like Maths, Science, English, Reasoning, and GK, covering topics ranging from algebraic identities to current affairs, designed to assess candidates’ knowledge and aptitude. 

Section II focuses on Physics and Maths, encompassing concepts such as laws of motion, coordinate geometry, calculus, and probability.

Result and Cutoffs

The Indian Coast Guard releases the results for the Navik exams online on the official website joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. After the exam, candidates whose names appear on the result list must undergo a medical examination. Due to COVID-19 circumstances, there were candidates whose medical reviews remained incomplete, but they were also considered for the medical round.

  • The result will be displayed in PDF format. 
  • Download and print it for future reference.

During the medical examination, candidates must carry several documents, including online admit cards, Class 10th and 12th passing certificates and mark sheets, caste certificates (if applicable), domicile certificates, proof of identity, and recent passport-sized photographs.
