Summit/ conferences in April

  1. 4th edition of India Boat & Marine Show (IBMS) Bolgatty Palace in Kochi in Kerala
    About – IBMS is India’s only and most influential Boat and Marine industry-related exhibition. The event is organised by Kochi-based Cruz Expo.
    The focus of the IBMS expo 2022 was the requirements for MSME in the marine and boating sector.
  2. 20th Meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) Pakke tiger reserve in Arunachal Pradesh
    About – The 20th NTCA was chaired by Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Bhupender Yadav.
    The first-ever NTCA meeting was held in Arunachal Pradesh, outside of the National Capital.
    The NTCA has released a Forest Fire Audit Protocol for Tiger Reserves, which will assist tiger reserve managers in assessing their fire preparation and managing forest fires throughout their whole life cycle.
  3. 20th India-France Joint Staff talks in Paris
    About – The 20th edition of the India-France Joint Staff talks focused on new initiatives within the framework of the existing bilateral defence cooperation mechanism, as well as improving current defence engagements.
    The two-day talks took place in a nice, warm, and courteous setting in Paris.
    The 20th edition of Joint Talks between India and France ended with the goal of actively enhancing defence cooperation.
  4. 4th US-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue in Washington DC
    About – Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III welcomed Ministers of Defense Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Dr S. Jaishankar to Washington, D.C. for the fourth US-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue.
  5. 1st Incredible India International Conference in Mumbai
    Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH, has announced the First Conference of Incredible India International Cruise Conference 2022 will be held on May 14-15, 2022 organised by the Mumbai Port Authority.
    He also launched the event website www. iiicc2022. in, logo and mascot named ‘Captain Cruzo’.
    The iconic sea-cruise terminal coming up at BPX Indira Dock Mumbai International Cruise Terminal is expected to be commissioned by 2024.
  6. 21st World Congress of Accountants 2022 on India
    The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will host the 21st World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) for the first time in 118 years.
    The event will be held from November 18 to 21 after outbidding France. The event will be held at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The theme for 2022 would be `Building Trust Enabling Sustainability
  7. India’s 1st Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat
    The summit witnessed Letters of Intent (LoIs) worth more than Rs 9000 crore. The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event witnessed the participation of industry leaders, academicians, and scholars to promote traditional medicines, and systems.
    Ministry of Ayush has received LoI from 28 companies to invest Rs. 6000 crores
  8. 5th BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit hosted in virtual mode by Sri Lanka
    Narendra Modi participated in and addressed the 5th BIMSTEC Summit hosted in virtual mode by Sri Lanka, the chair of BIMSTEC from September 2018 to March 2022. 2022 marks the 25th year of the establishment of BIMSTEC. At the conclusion of the Summit, Thailand took over as the chair nation of BIMSTEC.
    The theme of the 5th BIMSTEC Summit: “Towards a Resilient Region, Prosperous Economies, Healthy People”.
  9. G20 Heads of State and Government Summit 2022 in Bali, Indonesia
    G20 Bali Summit 2022 is the 17th meeting of the G20 Heads of State and Government Summit scheduled to take place in Bali, Indonesia from November 15-16, 2022 under the Presidency of Indonesia with the overall theme of “Recover Together Recover Stronger”.India will assume the G20 presidency on December 1, 2022, from Indonesia, and will convene the G20 Leaders Summit for the first time in India in 2023.

  1. Semicon India Conference 2022 in Bengaluru
    PM Narendra Modi inaugurated 1st Semicon India Conference 2022 at Bengaluru, aiming to visualize as the launchpad to start India’s ambition of becoming the global semiconductor hub and nurturing the chip design and manufacturing ecosystem.
    The government also formed an advisory committee for Semicon India to drive Rs 72,000-crore project.
    Theme: ‘Catalyzing India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem’.
  2. Swasthya Chintan Shivir- Health Summit in Kevadiya, Gujarat
    Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has inaugurated a three-day Swasthya Chintan Shivir (Health Summit) at Kevadiya in Gujarat.
    This summit was organized as a part of the 14th Convention of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW).
  3. Conference of Cluster-Based Business Organizations (CBBOs) in Jaipur
    Union Minister, Kailash Choudhary has inaugurated the Conference of Cluster-Based Business Organizations (CBBOs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) under the Scheme of Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.
  4. COP15 summit on combating desertification in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire
    The 15th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) was held from 9th May to 20th May 2022.
    COP 15 took place in Abidjan, a city in Cote d’Ivoire. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav represented India at COP 15 summit.
    Drought, land restoration, land rights, gender equality, and youth empowerment are the focus areas of COP 15.

  5. The United States, Belize, Germany, Indonesia, and Senegal co-host the 2nd Global COVID-19 Virtual Summit.
    Prime Minister Narendra Modi has participated in the Second Global COVID-19 Virtual Summit at the invitation of the President of the USA, Joseph R. Biden.
    The theme of the summit: Preventing Pandemic Fatigue and Prioritizing Preparedness.
  6. Intersolar Europe 2022 in Munich, Germany
    The event was organized by the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF).
    Intersolar Europe 2022, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry, took place from 11th May to 13th May 2022.
  7. “SCO’s Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure” anti-terror meet Hosted by India
    India hosted the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO’s)-Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) in New Delhi from May 16th to 19th.
    The Security Advisers of the National Security Councils of India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan participated in the meeting.
  8. 7th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of NDB hosted and chaired by India in virtual mode
    Finance Minister and India’s Governor for the New Development Bank (NDB) Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 7th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of NDB through video-conferencing in New Delhi.
    Due to the ongoing pandemic, this Annual Meeting of NDB which was hosted and chaired by India this year was organized in virtual mode.

  9. BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting hosted by China
    External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on May 19, 2022, participated in a virtual meeting of the BRICS Foreign Ministers.
    The BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs meeting was hosted by China on 19th May 2022 via video conference. Since, the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, this is the first meeting of BRICS Foreign Ministers.

  10. North East Research Conclave 2022 in IIT-Guwahati
    It was held between 20th and 22nd May 2022 jointly with the Science, Technology, and Climate Change Department and the Department of Education, Government of Assam at the IIT Guwahati campus.
    The inauguration of the conclave was followed by the signing of an MoU between IIT Guwahati and the Government of Assam to establish ‘The Assam Advanced Health Innovation Institute (AAHII).
  11. World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland
    Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will lead the Indian delegation at World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland from May 22 to 26.
    The annual meeting of the WEF, a Geneva-based international organisation working towards an array of global issues, will take place in a physical form for the first time since January 2020.

  12. 75th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland
    Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the need to create a robust global supply chain to provide fair access to vaccines and medicines.
    This year’s health assembly theme is “Health for peace, peace for health”.
  13. QUAD Leaders’ Summit 2022 held in Tokyo, Japan
    The leaders of the Quad countries (Australia, India, Japan, and the United States) will participate.
    QUAD Fellowship was launched at the Summit. It is a first-of-its-kind scholarship program that aims to promote people-to-people linkages between the four members of Quad.
  14. First-ever National Women Legislators Conference in Thiruvananthapuram
    The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the National Women Legislators’ Conference-2022 in Thiruvananthapuram on May 26, 2022. The Conference is being hosted by the Kerala Legislative Assembly as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
  15. 7th BRICS Culture Ministers’ Meeting hosted by the People’s Republic of China
    Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs Smt Meenakshi Lekhi attended the 7thBRICS Culture Ministers’ Meeting via video conference, which was hosted by the People’s Republic of China and attended by all BRICS member Nations.
    The Ministers approved the BRICS Action Plan 2022-2026, which aims to expand cultural cooperation and execute the 2015 BRICS Cultural Cooperation Agreement.

Summit/ Conferences in June

  1. Permanent Indus Commission conference in New Delhi
    The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the issue of advance flood information and the annual report of the Permanent Commission of Indus Waters (PCIW).
    I also, it discussed the 1,000 MW Pakal Dul under Article IX of the Indus Waters Treaty, 48 MW Lower Kalnai and 624 MW Kiru project hydropower projects being built by India on the west-flowing rivers.
  2. National Education Ministers’ Conference in Gujarat
    This meeting will focus on implementing the National Education Policy 2020 with digital projects like National Digital Education Architecture and the National Educational Technology Forum, among others.
  3. ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ meeting in
    India will host the Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting(SAIFMM) on the 16th and 17th of June to mark the 30th anniversary of its relations with the 10-nation grouping.
    It will be the first meeting hosted by India in New Delhi and will be accompanied by the 12th Edition of Delhi Dialogue.
  4. Ninth Summit of the Americas 2022 in Los Angeles, United States
    The Ninth Summit of the Americas 2022 was held from June 6 to June 10, 2022.
    The theme of Summit:  “Building a Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future”.
    Summit of the Americas 2022 was skipped by the President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. The president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, also boycotted the summit.
  5. 12th WTO Ministerial conference in Geneva, Switzerland
    It took place on 12-15 June 2022.
    The Conference will be co-hosted by Kazakhstan and chaired by Mr Timur Suleimenov, Deputy Chief of Staff of Kazakhstan’s President.
  6. First Physical Joint Consultative Commission Meeting India & Bangladesh
    It will review the entire meeting of bilateral relations, including cooperation in the wake of Covid19, border security, trade and investment, connectivity, energy, water resources, development partnership and regional-multilateral issues.
  7. 14th BRICS Summit in Beijing
    China’s President Xi Jinping will host the 14th BRICS Summit in Beijing on June 23.
