Ganga Utsav 2022– The River Festival

  • Ministry of Jal Shakti is organizing Ganga Utsav- The River Festivals 2022 on 4th November 2022 at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi in two separate sessions.
  • The Ganga Utsav- The River Festivals 2022 is being organized by the collaboration of The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, and the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

Adani New Industries installs India’s largest wind turbine, taller than the Statue of Unity

  • Adani New Industries Ltd. has constructed a wind turbine in Mundra in Gujarat as part of its growth plans for renewable energy that is taller than the Statue of Unity and has blades that are broader than the wingspan of a jumbo jet.
  • Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL) has announced the installation of the largest wind turbine generator (WTG) in the nation in Mundra, Gujarat.”

India Urban Transport Seminar and Expo-2022

  • Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri and Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan will jointly inaugurate the 15th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Expo 2022 in Kochi on 4th November 2022.
  • The event is being organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with Govt. of Kerala from 4th to 6th November 2022 at Hotel Grand Hyatt Kochi, Kerala.

“National Technical Textiles” – 20 strategic projects sanctioned

  • Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal has sanctioned 20 strategic research projects including speciality fibres, agro-textiles, and smart textiles under the National Technical Textiles Initiative.
  • The Union Ministry of Textiles has also said that this project is a “new impetus project” for the development of India.

CRPF women officers appointed as IG for the first time

  • Woman officer Annie Abraham was appointed as CRPF Rapid Action Force IG, Bihar Division IG Seema Dunia. This is the first time that a woman IG will head the Rapid Response Force.
  • These two are the first women officers to join the CRPF in 1987. They also chaired the Indian Women’s Police Team of the UN and won the President’s Medal for Outstanding Service.

Discovery of Ancient Hero-stones

  • An ancient Hero-stone has been found at Paramakkudi in Ramanathapuram district.
  • This Hero-stones sculpture is carved in relief on a stone measuring two and a half feet in height and one and a half feet in width.

New PM for Isreal

  • Israel held general elections on November 2, 2022. The election was the 5th general election in 4 years and the competition between Benjamin Nathan and Yair Labit.
  • Former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was re-elected Prime Minister with the highest number of votes cast in the election.

PM Modi inaugurated Global Investors Meet ‘Invest Karnataka 2022’

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the inaugural function of Invest Karnataka, the Global Investors Meet via video conferencing.
  • The meet is aimed at attracting prospective investors and setting up development agenda for the next decade.
  • The three-day programme, being held from 2 to 4 November in Bengaluru, would witness more than 80 speaker sessions.
  • “Invest Karnataka’ is going to grab the attention of the whole world. Global investment is coming here as Karnataka has a rich atmosphere.
  • This will put a strong foundation for the development of Karnataka in the next five years.
  • The country sessions would each be hosted by the partner countries: France, Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, and Australia, which would be bringing in high-level ministerial and industrial delegations from their respective countries.

India Tops List of Countries With Cheapest Manufacturing Costs

  • India has been ranked as the nation with the cheapest manufacturing cost ahead of China and Vietnam, according to a report.
  • According to the US News and World Report, out of 85 nations, India has bagged the 31st position in the overall Best Countries ranking.

Union Agriculture Minister Chairs National Natural Farming Mission Meeting

  • The National Natural Farming Mission has been launched by Union Agriculture Minister.
  • The portal contains all the information about the mission, implementation outline, resources, implementation progress, farmer registration, blog, etc.
  • The portal will be for the benefit and welfare of farmers.
  • The ministry of Jal Shakti has made a roadmap by identifying 75 Sahakar Ganga Villages in the first phase by signing MoU with Sahakar Bharti and training has been given to the farmers.
