Chandrayaan 3 Project Director P Veera Muthuvel Biometry and Speech
A video of a conversation with Veer Muthuvel, the project director of ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, which he spoke about earlier, is currently being widely shared by many people. In this video, he talks about how he reached this distance and the challenges he faced. Despite the significant successes of Chandrayaan-3 and its project director Veer Muthuvel, the old video in which he shared his thoughts is now being widely circulated.
About Veera Muthuvel’s Speech
In the video, Veer Muthuvel says: “Greetings to everyone. I express my gratitude to Mayilsamy Annadurai, who gave me this opportunity. In ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), I am working as a scientist. If you want to know about me, it all started for me in Villupuram. I studied up to 10th grade in government schools. In school, I was an average student.
After that, I joined Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. I was unsure about what to study next; I didn’t have any idea. I didn’t have parents or family members who were educated. I joined Diploma Mechanical Engineering with my friends.
During my studies, I became interested in engineering. Due to this, I scored well on the 10th-grade exam. I joined Meritll’s Sree Sairam Engineering College. I did well in all semesters, and I got my first and second rank. I graduated with a 9.1 CGPA. Through the campus interview, I joined L&T Metro Rail Ltd as a senior engineer.
While working there, I gained interest in research on vibration separation of electronics package satellites. I published my research papers in international journals. I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Bengaluru.
I joined ISRO as a Scientist/Engineer and worked on the vibration separation of an electronics package satellite project. During that time, I made significant research contributions.
Later, I became a systems engineer for Axiom, a Pragyan project in Chandrayaan-2. Now, ISRO has appointed me as the project director for Chandrayaan-3. This is a massive project for ISRO. Leading such a big team is a huge responsibility. I am a simple person, but everyone can do it if I can.
Opportunities are available for everyone. We all have the potential; it’s in our hands to utilize them. The chances are available to everyone. How we make use of them is up to us. Our abilities are given to us by our parents, a great percentage of them. I will lead a large team for ISRO’s first lunar landing project. I have joined the project with three Nanosatellites. I’m responsible for ISRO’s first lunar orbiter.
ISRO has given me a significant opportunity. We are working on three nano payloads. I became the project director for Asochit, a Pragyan project in Chandrayaan-2.
Now, ISRO has given me the responsibility of the project director for Chandrayaan-3. This is a huge project for ISRO. I lead a big team now. I am a simple person leading a big team. Everyone can lead, not just me. The opportunities are available for everyone. How we utilize them is in our hands.
The challenges that come with it, the 100% dedication, the 100% perseverance without any opposition, the tough challenges, our individuality – this certainly guarantees success. There are rewards for the hard challenges. This is what he conveyed.”
Veera Muthuvel’s Importance in Chandrayaan-3
Afterwards, many organizations both abroad and in India invited him to work. However, he prefers to continue working with ISRO itself. He submitted a research paper about the method of creating vibrations in the electronics package of Vikram Lander to Electronics Letters in 2016.
The investigation for this was conducted by U.R. Rao Satellite Centre in Bengaluru. This research emphasizes the innovative technology Veer Muthuvel developed, which helped in the proper functioning of Vikram’s rover section.
For 30 years, Veer Muthuvel has been contributing to various positions and projects at ISRO. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in enhancing the technological advancement of Vikram’s lander and effectively implementing its rover section.
After this remarkable experience, Veer Muthuvel is currently serving as the project director for Chandrayaan-3, which is working towards its launch in 2019. His extensive expertise has played a pivotal role in securing this position.
Alongside 29 fellow project directors, scientists, and engineers, Veer Muthuvel is tirelessly working to ensure the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission for Vikram lander’s development and launch.
Pride for India
“The entire journey of this project and the successful execution of its planned timeline is a monumental achievement. The first nation to land a rover near the southern pole of the moon and the fourth country to soft-land a rover on the moon, India, is now on the verge of successfully placing a lander on the moon’s surface as part of this project. Veer Muthuvel proudly states, ‘This achievement brings immense honour to India.’
Veer Muthuvel acknowledges his father Palanivel, who shed tears of joy upon witnessing the live moments of victory at their home in Vizhuppuram. He had seen those victorious moments through the live stream, and his eyes were filled with tears of happiness.”
