Challenges to Rural Tourism in India

  1. There are few opportunities for rural communities to market themselves and a lack of knowledge, education, and exposure to the outside world.
  2. Adequate infrastructure, such as access roads and lodging options, is lacking in villages.
  3. Rural entrepreneurs do not receive enough financial support.
  4. Rural projects are not well connected to traditional tourist destinations.
  5. There are fewer trained and qualified people who can handle multiple languages.
